2-weeks Keto-Trial

The ketogenic diet has received a lot of press recently, and the most important thing to know is that this is NOT another fad diet. In fact, it is how our bodies are designed to function. Our bodies are designed to switch between fat burning and carbohydrate or sugar burning, a bit like a hybrid car. You can only run on one engine!

More and more studies show promising health benefits in many areas, and a lot of research is indeed still in its early stages. There are a few things to consider and there are some potential pitfalls, which is why it's important to get proper balanced information and guidance. During those 2 weeks, I will be available for all the participants even in between the classes, should any questions or concerns arise. This programme is designed for anybody who has played with the idea of trying out the ketogenic diet, but so far had doubts. It is also ideal for anybody who wants to get rid of the sugar cravings that might have crept in over the Christmas period. It will help you reset your metabolism to become a better fat-burner.

The course will take place in a small group in Bray and Foxrock and it is supposed to be fun as well - which is why we have included one evening where we cook and eat together! There will also be plenty of time for group discussions and questions, so you will also have the support of being part of a group. You will also get plenty of information material and recipes.

Tuesday 21rd January, 7-9 pm, Bray: First evening, you will get an introduction to the health implications of sugar, blood sugar balancing and the basics of the ketogenic diet, as well as meal plans and recipes to get you started.

Tuesday, 28th January: 7.30 - 9.30 pm, Foxrock: Second evening, we will be meeting at Fiona's Food For Life, and she will show us how to prepare some of the dishes on your meal plan. Not only will you find out how easy it is, but we will be enjoying all those delicious foods together. There will also plenty of time to review the first week and get plenty more tips and advice for the following week.

Tuesday, 4th February, 7 - 9 pm, Bray: On our last evening, we will again review how everybody has been getting on during the last week, and you will receive more facts and tips to either staying on in ketosis or moving to the low GL diet. We will explore the benefits and the myths around the ketogenic diet. And you will receive plenty of material and recipes to keep going on your own.
